Rep Rena Moran Confirmed to Speak at Cannabis Rise 2017 Rally at the Minnesota State Capitol on 4/20
Rena Moran About Me I have a BA in Early Childhood Education and more than 15 years experience working with children. When I am not working at the Capitol, I work with a nonprofit organization to prevent child abuse through education and support services. We also create diverse parent action teams to advise the Dept of Human Services on effective child protection policies. I had the privilege to be a Wellstone Organizing Fellow during the 2008 election, and I am a proud graduate of the Organizing Apprenticeship Project, The Public Policy Project, and the Neighborhood Leadership Program. I served as the lead organizer with Urban Embassy and received their 2008 Emerging Leader Award. I have lived with my family in a home we own on Aurora Ave for more than a decade. I serve on the Board of Directors of the Summit/U Planning Council, Model Cities, and the Minnesota Women’s Political Caucus. I also organize with the Aurora St. Anthony Neighborhood Development Corporation. Thanks to the people of District 65A, I was elected in 2010 as the first African-American elected to the MN House from St. Paul.
