Session just Declared war on Cannabis
As those of you may have heard, Jeff Sessions just declared a full on war on all cannabis. While we are under attack, by January 19, if our legislature does not act, medical cannabis will be put directly on the chopping block as well. PLEASE call your Representatives and Senators and let them know how what you think about this most recent move. Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) published this script today and it is a great way to make sure that your voice is heard. CALL YOUR MEMBER OF CONGRESS “Hi, my name is _________ and I’m a constituent who lives in _________. I’m calling because I believe marijuana should be legal and safely accessible. Will Representative _________ make sure the Rohrabacher-Blumenauer amendment protecting state-legal medical marijuana is in the upcoming budget bill?” If yes: “Thank you! Please tell the Representative that I stand with them and encourage them to make marijuana federally legal.” If no: “Seven of ten voters believe the federal government should let states manage marijuana without interference, The Rohrabacher-Blumenauer amendment provides critical protection to state-legal medical marijuana and the critically ill patients who rely on it. I urge the Representative to support the will of the voters and vote for the Rohrabacher-Blumenauer amendment.” CALL YOUR SENATOR “Hi, my name is _________ and I’m a constituent who lives in _________. I’m calling because I believe marijuana should be legal and safely accessible. Will Senator _________ make sure the Leahy amendment protecting state-legal medical marijuana is in the upcoming budget bill?” If yes: “Thank you!
